Catherine Bennett is a Psychologist Counsellor currently working in Luxembourg in private practice (in English). She is originally from the United Kingdom, but has lived and worked in Luxembourg for many years. Having followed a career in banking in the City (London), she took a break to have a family. It was during this time that she trained in Psychology, specialising in Child Development, Play Therapy and Cognitive and Behavioural Therapy.
Having counselled pregnant mothers, post-natally depressed mothers and mothers who had associated problems with their newborns, Catherine furthered her counselling skills with Person-Centred Counselling (Carl Rogers) and latterly Psychodynamic Counselling. Psychodynamic Counselling is more analytical in its approach and refers back to the ideas of Freud, Jung, Winnicott and influential work by Klein.
Whilst Catherine follows a multi-disciplinary approach, some clients have a preference for working with one approach, or some symptoms respond better with another. Before leaving England, Catherine worked both within Primary Care in a Doctor's surgery and in Private Practice. |
